Dan Lang

Radio & Digital Advertising Specialist
dlang@hbi.com

I have been working strategically with clients over the past 23 years. My passion is to help small businesses to national brands connet with consumers through powerful radio and digital campaigns.   Valued relationships and the challenges we face moving forward drive the desire to work everyday to discover opportunities for clients and co-workers.  I love experiencing growth and changes in the ever evolving marketing world and bringing those applications to market with clients. My journey in radio started over 23 years ago in Ellensburg Washington working for KXLE which is still broadcasting strong today! With our first child on the way back then, my wife and I moved back to the west side of Washington where I worked for 5 1/2 years with CBS Radio. Then I had the opportunity to work for Entercom at the time when it owned 710 KIRO and KTTH AM 770.  It was a great experience selling the spoken word formats in the Seattle Market.  Then in 2005 I had the opportunity to re-unite with my sales manager, Lois Mares, as she transitioned from CBS to now Hubbard Radio Seattle. I have been with Hubbard over 13 years. The ownership and my co-workers make it a dynamic and fun place to work. On a personal note, I have celebrated marriage with my wife for over 25 years, we have two beautiful children, and we love spending time together on the lake partaking in water sports and absorbing the sun.  I also love to bird hunt with my son, our black lab, and just get away from technology from time to time! At the end of the day -- I love to be around people and hopefully make a difference in their lives!

Marilyn Milano

Account Manager
mmilano@hbi.com

Hi everyone. I've been in media sales for a lonnnnng time, and  here at Hubbard since 2006 . I am a sales rep for all our stations and for 2060 digital. For those of you who DON'T know, I am one of the resident "crazy dog ladies" as I've had dogs all my life and am currently the proud mama of 3 spoiled cocker spaniels--Lola, Tux, and Betsy. Happy to share lots of pictures of all three, and videos of Tux "singing" upon request (and sometimes when NOT requested, lol!) I've been active in animal rescue for many years and am a pet loss support volunteer at Seattle Animal Shelter. I also host my own radio show on our station KKNW-it's called "Love Has Many Faces" and it's all about raising awareness, touching hearts, and saving animals' lives. The show FB page is "Love Has Many Faces on 1150 KKNW". Music was my major in college and I  spent a few years playing clubs as a pianist and singer (solo and with bands) before realizing that it made more sense as an avocation rather than a way to make a steady living. Feel very lucky that I still get paid to play piano and/or sing here and there --definitely good for the soul. I have a Marilyn Milano Music FB page where I'll post info about gigs and such. My work space is just across from Cliff's office by the digital team--just look for the desk with all the dog calendars and photos!

I currently run digital marketing campaigns (external & internal), create creative solutions for clients, and monitor/analyze data. (Writing this feels like writing a dating bio, oh god where do I start?) If you see me around the office and don't know what to say, try starting with A.   If you want to read my almost-dating bio, read B. A. Talk to me about music, Seinfeld, or Spongebob. If you're not into any of that, hmmm ok that's weird, but cool! Talk to me about what you're passionate about, teach me something new! I love learning new words, teach me cool words please! Lately I've learned "verisimilitude", and "yepsen," which is an obsolete word referring to an amount that can be held between cupped hands. Ex. a yepsen of water, is the amount of water you can hold with your hands cupped together. Cool, huh? B. Hi! My name is Mitch. I fell in love with radio during college where I was a DJ at my college station, KTRM 88.7 The Edge in Kirksville, Missouri. Sharing the music and stories that exited me most with listeners opened me up to the wider world of radio that drew my interests in a big way. I went on to become the program director, and digital content manager at KTRM. I had many unofficial duties I also enjoyed participating in because radio became a very important part of my identity beginning then. I learned how to create liners and legal ids, I did promotions for our station at many campus events, and even helped pitch our station to MTV-U's program "College Radio Countdown" where we got to have our radio station featured on an episode! Buuuut, all that was 4 years ago and just the entry into my radio career. I've been with Warm for 3 & 1/2 years now, and spend a lot of time volunteering at KEXP. Even cooler for me, I've been lucky enough to have my music been played on several radio stations with my band Hi Crime. Stations like 107.7 The End, KEXP, and various college stations have been playing our tunes. For me there's nothing cooler than hearing yourself on the radio, whether it's your music as a musician, or as a DJ on the mic, sharing your voice and message with all those listening.

Robert Brewer

Board Operator / Production Assistant
Rbrewer@hubbardradio.com

Robert Brewer aka DJ Forrest Gump People ask me how the name DJ Forrest Gump came about, I didn't pick it, my co hosts did and it sorta stuck. Back in the mid 90's I use to co-host Seattle's all Rap Radio show Founded by Nasty Nes Rodriguez, with Co-Hosts Mike Clark, DJ Supreme, & DJ B-Mello. I was currently in the US Marine Reserves, and at the Time KCMU 90.3fm (Now KEXP) use to be in the UW School of communications Bldg, Our show was every Sunday starting at 6p-8p. Our Base had moved to Ft. Lewis, down in Tacoma, I normally wouldn't get out of formation until 4:30pm which gave me a hour & a half to drive to Seattle. Sometimes easier said than done, which mean's most of the time I was in fatigues, or coming out of the Field looking Crazy. The doors at the School of Communications bldg would auto lock at 6pm. if your late you had to deal with the scrutiny of being embarrassed on the radio. Most of time they would see me running across the parking lot trying to make the door so DJ's B-Mello & Nasty Nes started the whole "Run Forrest Run!" thing and Nes would do his terrible impersonation of Forrest Gump while I was on the air. After awhile I do dj events or be at places 50 or 100 miles from Seattle and people would hear my voice and come up and ask me "are you DJ Forrest Gump?" I was like yea! I later on resonated even more due to my love of Trail Running. I would normally DJ either the night before a Marathon or after Races to my success I completed 4 50 Mile Races 2 of those I DJ'd at clubs following the Race. I think it was then after Running a fairly good 50 Miler and DJ'n to a packed room I was like Yea I feel like DJ Forrest Gump. I started here at Hubbard back in March of 2007, very luck to be hired by Lisa Adam's who at the time was PD of KLSY/Mix 92.5fm before it switched to Movin 92.5fm. I've learned a lot during my time, and have valued the friendships made.

Ron Harrell

Program Director

Meet people where they are and grow from there. "Town to town, up and down the dial" has taken me to every time-zone in the continental U.S. and some pretty cool towns, but the Pacific Northwest is quickly becoming my favorite. Don't listen to the old-timers; this business is more fun than it used to be because we have more toys to play with and more opportunities to reach media consumers than we've ever had.

Cliff Johnson

Digital Director
cjohnson@hbi.com

I'm the Digital Director at Hubbard Radio Seattle, so I'm the guy to talk to if you have questions about the websites, live streams apps and social media. I love video games, soccer (Go RSL!) and hanging out with my wife and son. I'm also one-third of gaming podcast Byte Me Podcast. I've worked for Hubbard since 2010 by way of the Bonneville acquisition. Before moving to Seattle in 2014, I lived most of my life in Utah, not counting a year I lived in Michigan when I worked for Volkswagen. Washington is significantly better than Utah. 🙂

Middays 9am - 2pm
shughes@hbi.com

Hi, I'm Seth... I grew up on a dairy farm in Vermont but discovered very quickly I have a Northwest heart. After 12 years of in Seattle radio and playin' in the deep woods of Snohomish County this is definitely my home. I love my family, food and the golf course. In that order. We're a hockey family... my kindergartner could skate circles around me in full pads before he could walk. Practically everything I eat is just an excuse to enjoy it's condiment and I love everything outdoors. Hope we can enjoy some beer and chicken wings together soon, but in the meantime, you can hear me from 9am – 2pm, Monday – Friday on 98.9 The Bull!

I love mayo and my cats. I hate the song Cry Pretty by Carrie Underwood. I've been in radio for a really long time, buy only moved to the Seattle area 9 years ago. I always have food and fresh lemons at my desk. If you happen to be the person in the office that loves Olympic Curling please give me a shout and tell me why I should love it too.
